Open Policy ManualWoodson Independent School District is committed to complying with Senate Bill 12 of the 89th Texas Legislature and Texas Education Code §11.005.
Except as required by state or federal law, Woodson ISD will not assign diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) duties to any person. District employees, contractors, vendors, service providers, volunteers, and other individuals acting at, for, or on behalf of Woodson ISD are prohibited from engaging in DEI duties as defined by Texas Education Code §11.005.
For purposes of this requirement, prohibited DEI duties include those identified in Texas Education Code §11.005, including certain activities involving:
An employee or contractor who intentionally or knowingly engages in prohibited DEI duties, or assigns prohibited DEI duties to another person, may be subject to disciplinary action, including termination of employment or termination of a contract, in accordance with applicable law and Woodson ISD Board Policy.
Affected employees and contractors will be provided appropriate due process and an opportunity to appeal disciplinary or contract actions in accordance with applicable District policies and procedures.
All contractors, vendors, consultants, and service providers performing services at, for, or on behalf of Woodson ISD are required to comply with Texas Education Code §11.005 and applicable Woodson ISD policies and procedures.
A copy of the District's applicable SB 12 policies and procedures is available electronically through Woodson ISD and will be provided to contractors as required by law.
